The best thing about Reiki is that it is so simple to learn and use. Everyone can learn Reiki, even children. Reiki is not a religion; Reiki is exercised independent of faith and state of health and is used by people all over the world. You need no prior knowledge or special abilities to learn Reiki.
The only way to get Reiki activated is through initiations performed by a Reiki Master or a Reiki Master Teacher in a Reiki 1 seminar. After a Reiki 1 seminar you will be able to treat yourself and others with this gentle and yet so deeply harmonizing energy.
Reiki supports all other treatments, both conventional medicine and alternative treatments like homeopathy, acupuncture, Rosen therapy, physiotherapy and so on.
During a Reiki treatment the hands are placed lightly on the body or just above in different places. The body can be fully clothed.
The levels of Reiki
Reiki 1
Reiki 1 is the basic level. In a Reiki 1 seminar Reiki is activated in your hands by a Reiki Master or Reiki Master Teacher. After that you will have Reiki in your hands for the rest of your life. You will learn how to treat yourself and others. It is a complete seminar with both theory of Reiki, and practical exercises and you will get a written documentation.
You need no prior knowledge or special abilities to attend a Reiki 1 seminar.
A Reiki 1 seminar takes 2 – 4 days or minimum 12 hours.

Reiki 2
We recommend that there are at least three to four months between a Reiki 1 and a Reiki 2 seminar. This allows Reiki to become well integrated and for you to gain practical experience. In the Reiki 2 seminar you learn how to send Reiki at a distance, over time and space. Reiki 2 has a large menu of techniques that greatly widen how Reiki can be
used. It teaches you more opportunities that, in simple straightforward ways, support you in your daily life.
A Reiki 2 seminar takes 2-3 days or minimum 15 hours.

Reiki 3A
Reiki 3A is a seminar that goes deeper, promoting great personal growth. We recommend that you wait at least 6 months after your Reiki 2 seminar. It is important that you have practiced all the Reiki techniques before you move on to the Reiki 3A level. Before you can attend this seminar you will be invited for a conversation, a kind of interview. You will become an ambassador for Reiki. The Reiki Network wants to understand your motives and that you have an understanding of the ethical responsibility you will now have. By attending a Reiki 3A seminar you will have the opportunity, if you wish, to train as a Reiki Master.
A Reiki 3A seminar lasts for three whole days.
Reiki Master
After Reiki 3A you can start your Reiki Master education. To become a Reiki Master is an extensive and profound process, wich makes it very important to find the Reiki Master Teacher that is right for you. The Reiki Network offers a Reiki Master education of high quality. Our student acquire high competence in conveying Reiki, as well as experiencing personal growth through the whole process. Membership in The Reiki Network is included the first two years. You can attend international and regional meetings and will have access to our extensive members only area online.
By training as a Reiki Master you have made the decision to teach and to promote and further spread Reiki. In The Reiki Network you need to do at least one year of training to be able to teach seminars according to the Reiki Network standard. The decision to become a Reiki Master is a profound one demanding significant commitment in effort, time, money and openness.
A Reiki Master is qualified to teach Reiki 1 and Reiki 2.
Reiki Master Teacher
After at least 2 years of active teaching in Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 as well as 4 students moving on and attending Reiki 3A there is the opportunity of becoming a Reiki Master Teacher. Your Reiki Master Teacher will make this decision following clear guidelines about what qualifications are to be met. Reiki Master Teacher is the highest level in The Reiki Network and allows you to teach all the Reiki levels. Additionally you have the opportunity to train your own Reiki Master and Reiki Master Teachers.
The education process is fulfilled when you become a Reiki Master Teacher. That does not mean that the journey of Reiki has come to an end. Reiki is an unlimited gift that can be explored to the fullest throughout your whole life.
Reiki Master student / trainee
As a Reiki Master student or trainee you will be trained in teaching Reiki 1 and Reiki 2. Your Reiki Master Teacher will require that you master this in a way that meets the high standards of The Reiki Network. In The Reiki Network it is an important task to be able to convey a good understanding and appreciation of Reiki as well as being able to activate Reiki in others. It is therefore required that the student shows this ability and knowledge.
Throughout your training you will finish at least eight assignments. These assignments are described in the manual and cover all that is taught in the first and second level, that is Reiki 1 and Reiki 2. The answers can be presented orally to the Reiki Master Teacher. It can be presented directly to your teacher or by sound- or video recording.
Your Reiki Master Teacher will give you constructive feedback for each assignment for you to develop and enhance your knowledge. You may be asked to repeat an assignment if they are not according to the standards expected in The Reiki Network.
The larger aspect of the education is your personal development. Many people experience a change in their consciousness and get a new understanding of their standpoint. Personal difficulties and themes can surface when you are learning techniques to master this. This is also a part of becoming a Reiki Master.
Reiki supports you
The great advantage of Reiki is that it is so simple and feels so good. One hour of Reiki, where you are lying down relaxing, has an effect equal to three or four hours of sleep. Usually you will feel relaxed and balanced afterwards. Or have more energy, as if your batteries have been fully charged again. Other experiences with Reiki:
